The Daily Graphic is worried at the fading away of the time tested values of honesty, integrity and hard work among many Ghanaians over the past few years. It says the respect that was hitherto accorded people who engaged in honest hard work to make a living is no more, and people are now compelled to make money over night without sweat. What the Graphic finds more worrying is the upsurge in school and examination malpractices, where pupils and students in both basic and tertiary institutions cheat during examinations, sometimes with the support of school officials, teachers and parents who are expected to supervise their students and children`s proper upbringing.  The paper says it is time we woke up and went back to our cherished values.
 
The Ghanaian Times commends the decision taken by the Passport Office to adopt acquisition of passports on -line but is of the view that the decision should have been taken a long time ago because the technology for processing passports on-line has been available for a while. It says, what beats its imagination is the failure to use it to process passports up till now. The paper therefore urges the officials to follow through with the plan to weed out middle men also known as ''goro boys'' who make the process more cumbersome for prospective applicants and ensure that indeed the December deadline is met. The paper is also confident that when the new system takes off, Ghanaians will acquire their passports without difficulty.
