Infinix Hot2 Android Phone Unveiled in Ghana

Infinix Mobility, in collaboration with Jumia Ghana, has introduced another ultramodern smartphone onto the Ghanaian market.

The Infinix Hot 2 phone, which was launched yesterday under Google’s Android One initiative at a colourful ceremony in Accra, is the first smartphone on the Android One™ programme in Africa.

The device enables all users to enjoy the latest version of Android with guaranteed software upgrades, premium hardware specs and a wide range of customised apps.

Through Google Play, Android One phone users will have access to over one million apps that allow them to message friends, make video calls, socialise, check news and weather and play games.

Google apps such as Gmail, Google Maps, YouTube, Google Search and Google Translate are pre-loaded on the smartphone.

Caesar Sengupta, Vice President of Product Management at Google, expressed delight with the collaboration with Infinix.

According to him, “Google is pleased to collaborate with Infinix Mobility on Android One- a programme designed to help bring high-quality, low-cost Android devices to emerging markets.

“We’re looking forward to working with Infinix Mobility to empower the next billion people.” Benjamin Jiang, MD, Infinix Mobility, who was speaking on the device at the launch, said the new Infinix Hot 2 redefines the smartphone industry in Ghana, stating, “At Infinix we believe that Ghanaian end-users deserve the latest in trendy smartphones at competitive prices.

“That is why we are pleased to collaborate with Google to deliver this unique smartphone—the Infinix Hot 2. We are confident that the phone will push the frontiers of smartphone technology to the next level.”

Funlola Abe, Jumia Ghana Country Manager, added that “Infinix Hot 2 is set to break communication barriers in Ghana and beyond. It is a premium smartphone and a must-have for everyone.”

She said Jumia affords the ordinary Ghanaian customers the opportunity to order the Infinix Hot 2 from the comfort of their homes or offices at a cheaper rate.

Phone Features

The smartphone comes in two variations: the standard version, which will be available in black, white, blue and red and the premium version which will be available in gold.
The Infinix Hot 2 boasts of a five-inch HD and double glass screen with curves in all the right places.

Its quad core processor is the fastest and most responsive Android experience with 16GB of internal memory.

Additionally, the phone has dual SIM capabilities and an 8-megapixel rear and 2 megapixel front camera.

Users of the Infinix Hot 2 can automatically enable the new battery saver feature to extend battery life by 90 minutes.

When charging users can also see the estimated time for the battery to become fully charged.

The operating system offers users more control over data usage by offering a two-quick swipe control to turn data on or off. They can also easily check data usage. 

Five people were awarded with the new smartphones in a draw at the function.
