Alleged Corruption In Judiciary Continue To Attract Reactions As Judicial Council Interdicts Twenty Two Judges

A statesman K.B. Quantson says the current development in the Judiciary bothers on National Security.  

Mr Quantson told Radio Ghana that without the law and an effective justice system, any human society will degenerate into a jungle. 

Speaking to Radio Ghana’s George Ankrah, Mr Quantson called for an overhaul of the system and the strengthening of institutions. 

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the National Peace Council, Professor Emmanuel Asante says the alleged corruption within the Judiciary is a sad commentary. 

He said Ghanaians should exercise patience and allow the Judicial Council to apply its regulatory mechanism and where possible prosecute Judges who may be found culpable. 

He said it is not proper for critics to label all judges as corrupt because of this expose. 

In a related development, the Archbishop of the Catholic Arch Diocese of Accra Most Reverend Gabriel Palmer Buckle says human beings are corrupt and not the institutions in which they work. 

He says in every institution there are bad nuts and these are the ones that should be dealt with.  

Speaking to Radio Ghana, Archbishop Palmer Buckle pleads with Ghanaians not to label the Judiciary as corrupt because it is an important institution which bothers on the good governance of the nation. 

Archbishop Palmer Buckle expresses the fear that if the situation is not well managed, Ghana will degenerate into a state of lawlessness. 

He said the church will have to go into moral regeneration.
