Minority threatens to sue government over IMF loan disbursement The Minority has asked the International Monetary Fund, IMF, to halt further disbursements of monies to Ghana under its three-year bailout programme because the deal does not have the blessing of Parliament. The New Patriotic Party, NPP, MPs are threatening to drag the government to court if the Bretton Woods institution fails to heed their call. Addressing a news conference in Accra today, the Minority spokesperson on Finance, Dr Anthony Akoto Osei and MP for Efutu and Member of the finance committee, Alex Afenyo-Markin said government cannot contract any loan without Parliamentary approval. The Minority is therefore asking President Mahama to take the immediate corrective measures while calling on the Speaker to cause Parliament to be recalled to approve the deal. GBC
