NHIA To License Nsawam Prison Clinic

The National Health Insurance Authority, NHIA, will this week begin a process to license the only Prison’s Clinic to make it an Accredited Health Insurance Provider. 

The decision follows a number of challenges facing staff and inmates of the nation’s prisons. 

The Chief Executive Officer of the NHIA, Nathaniel Otoo made this known at the launch of free registration of inmates of the Prisons Service at Nsawam. 

He stressed that it is unfair and inequitable for the NHIS to exclude the inmates.
