George Boateng Is “Comic Relief” – Ben Ephson

Pollster and Managing Editor of the Daily Dispatch Newspaper, Ben Ephson, says it is a done deal for President Mahama in his bid to lead the NDC again into the 2016 elections. 

Commenting on the President's filing of nomination on Monday, Mr Ephson said anyone who attempts to contest President Mahama, might just be wasting his or her money. 

He described George Boateng, the branch Youth Organiser who attempted to pick nomination forms for the Presidential Primaries as a comic relief. 

Meanwhile, President John Mahama has vowed to lead the NDC to yet another one touch victory in the 2016 general elections. 

According to the president, the NDC has a solid record in government. 

He was speaking after he filed his nomination to contest the NDC flagbearership for the 2016 elections.  

As at now, the President is the only one to pick and submit the forms ahead of the November 7 primaries. 

The president expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he is enjoying from the rank and file of the party and pledged to continue the legacy left by his predecessors Jerry Rawlings and Prof John Mills. 

National Chairman of the party, Kofi Portuphy pledged the support of both the rank and file of the NDC to ensure a resounding victory in 2016. 

According to him, the NDC has an unshakable unity. 

General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah disclosed that after close of nominations on the 10th of this month, even if the president is the only candidate, the party's constitution requires that there should be voting to confirm his candidature.
