Anaesthetists: A Look At Their Challenges

Members of the Ghana Anaesthetist Society have outlined a number of challenges affecting their aspect of medicine. These include lack of appropriate equipment and sometimes essential drugs as well as limited numbers of Anaesthetists in the country leading to increased workload on the few that are practicing in Ghana. Anaesthetists are health professionals who among other things make sure that the patient who is undergoing a surgical operation does not feel pains during the surgery. They itemized some of their concerns to GBC24 after a symposium held in Accra on the standards of the practice of Anaesthesia in Ghana.
