Business owners cited for tax evasion urged to settle indebtedness A Presidential Staffer, Dr. Clement Apaak, says it will not be fair for the security agencies to arrest business owners cited for tax evasion. This is because most of them are not aware of the fraudulent activities of their clearing agents who take advantage of the final verification and classification report to under pay duties without the knowledge of their importers. The development, he said is the reason government has given ultimatum to business owners to settle their indebtedness rather than rushing to sanction them. In an interview with Radio Ghana, Dr Apaak entreated companies that have asked clearing agents to work on their behalf to cross check once again with the Ghana Revenue Authority and GC Net to ensure that the agents dully paid duties they were supposed to pay.
