Government consoles Chiefs & people of  Akuapim Traditional Area  


The Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Nana Oye Lithur on behalf of the government has extended condolence to the Chiefs and people of the Akuapim Traditional Area following the death of the Paramount Chief of the Traditional Area, Omanhene, Oseadeeyo Addo Dankwa. 

Accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority, Nathaniel Otoo and the Akwapim North Municipal Chief Executive, John Opare-Addo, Nana Oye Lithur, paid a courtesy call on the Chiefs to commiserate with the Chiefs and people on their loss. 

Nana Oye Lithur also indicated that she was there as a family member and one of the great grandchildren of Oseadeeyo Addo Dankwa. She pledged her support in ensuing that the late Paramount Chief receives a befitting burial. 

Signing the book of condolence, Nana Oye Lithur described the late Oseadeeyo Addo Dankwa as a unifier and an astute statesman who strengthened their family bonds and developed Okuapeman. She prayed that the soul of the late Addo Dankwa rest in peace. 

The Minister later presented two bottles of schnapps, a hamper and an undisclosed amount of money to the Traditional Council towards preparations for the funeral rites. 

The Dzaasehene of the Akwapim Traditional Area, Nana Osim Kwatia said the family is finalizing arrangements for the funeral and burial of the late Oseadeeyo Addo Dankwa.
