Government renews curfew on Nankpanduri The Minister of the Interior, Mr Mark Woyongo has on the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council and by the Executive Instrument renewed the Curfew hours imposed on Nankpanduri Township. Other towns to be affected by the curfew, which starts at 10:00pm to 4:00am effective Friday 28th August, include Kpatinga, Bonbila, Borgni, Boatarrigu and Sakogu communities. In a statement issued on Friday, urged chiefs, opinion leaders, youth and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area. “Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all persons in the Nakpanduri Township and Environs including Kpatinga, Bonbila, Borgni, Boatarrigu and Sakogu communities from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon, and any person found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted”, the statement said.
