Ferro Fabric workers strike over poor working conditions Workers of Ferro Fabric, a steel manufacturing Company in Tema have protested against their poor conditions of service. According to the aggrieved workers, their medical facilities, working gear, annual bonus and overtime allowance do not conform to the labour law. The workers gathered on Tuesday at the forecourt of the company, demanding that these conditions are met or they stop working. They blamed management, who are mostly Indians for making them work under harsh conditions which are detrimental to their health. The Tema Regional Officer of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union, ICU, Eleazor Nyaunu, who earlier held a meeting with management on this development, said the rate at which expatriates are mistreating Ghanaian workers is disheartening.
