Statistical data reveals 7,628 patients treated at St Joseph within 3 weeks 


Information gathered from the St Joseph Orthopedic Hospital in Koforidua reveals that more people rushed to the facility to receive medical treatment during the three-week industrial action by the Ghana Medical Association.
 
According to the statistical data, seven thousand 628 patients were treated showing an average of 272 per day in place of its old daily record of 228. This shows an increase of 19 percent since the strike started.
 
At a visit to the Regional Hospital, all the doctors though had resumed and attending to patients, the number was still not as high as expected. 

Places visited include the Optical Department, Dental clinic, Kids and Adult OPDs and the casualty ward where a Senior Nursing Officer, Faustina Nana Boateng, conducted our news team round. 

Speaking in an interview, a Senior Medical Officer and Specialist in Urology, Dr. Frank Yirenkyi advised the public to report any health complications to the hospital for clinical diagnoses and treatment since the doctors are at post. 

He expressed their readiness to attend to anyone who approaches them for medical attention.
