The General Telegraph comments on the case of Charles Antwi who was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment to unlawful possession of a firearm to assassinate the President Mahama. The Paper says it is unsure whether the convict was in his right sense and therefore stresses the need to ensure adequate presentation of all citizens facing criminal charges who may require legal aid because of any limiting circumstances. The Paper calls on government to take steps to support the legal Aid scheme by providing motor vehicles, office logistics and equipment to be able to provide legal aid to more people in the society. It also calls for more lawyers as the number of lawyers available to the scheme is small.
