Small Scale Miners kick against increase in permit charges

The Ghana National Association of Small Scale Miners say the current upward adjustment of permit charges from 750 Ghana cedis to 2,400 dollars by the EPA is beyond the ability of members to pay. 

At a media briefing in Accra, the General Secretary of the Association, Godwin Amah, called for government intervention to reduce the fees to enable many miners to acquire permits.
