Commercial Drivers threaten one week sit down strike

The Ghana Committed Drivers Association has threatened a nationwide sit down strike for one week against what they termed the unbearable and impractical policies of the Driver and Vehicle Licenses Authority, DVLA, the Ministry of Roads and Transport and Insurance Companies. 

According to the Association, the recent policies of these organisations are inhumane and unacceptable. 

Speaking at a news Conference in Tema, the Chairman of the Association, Charles Danso said the insurance premium for third party persons on commercial vehicles have been increased by over 400 percent describing it as unacceptable, in view of the present situation. 

The Ghana Committed Drivers Association in July embarked on a similar sit down strike on the same issues.
