COCOBOD strategies to boost cocoa productivity The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has begun key social interventions in some cocoa growing communities as part of long term strategies of ensuring sustainable cocoa production. This includes the formation of youth in cocoa production clubs in some of the rural areas as a way to attract and encourage them to take up cocoa farming. COCOBOD is also supporting young cocoa farmers with inputs and other incentives. Meanwhile, traditional and community leaders are also urged to readily release land to interested young persons to venture into cocoa production. A Deputy Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD, Dr. Francis Kofi Oppong, made this known at the 21st Annual General Meeting of Kuapa Kokoo Limited in Kumasi. GBC
