Dismiss striking doctors for refusing to resume work - Labour Expert A Labour and Mediation Expert, Austin Gamey has asked government to dismiss striking doctors for persistently refusing to return to the hospitals to work. Speaking to Radio Ghana, after government released the road map to resolve the impasse, Mr Gamey said it is now clear that the GMA leadership is deliberately prolonging the Industrial action to the detriment of the tax payers at whose cost they were trained to save lives. He said several appeals to the doctors to return to work should be enough to begin serious negotiations. Mr Gamey said some doctors in and outside Ghana are willing to work. Government should therefore look for those doctors and go into a gentleman agreement with them to take over the government hospitals. A retired Reverend Minister of the A.M.E Zion Church, Reverend Martin Vanderpuije also says the action by the medical doctors is not healthy for the country in view of all the measures to ensure quality health for all citizens. The Rev. Vanderpuije who is the Chairman and Patron of the grassroot think thank known as EL VATT Association asked the striking doctors not to put monetary consideration above the precious lives of patients. Rev. Vanderpuije called for cool heads to resolve the industrial action by the members of the Ghana Medical Association. GBC
