Medical doctors’ strike affecting health facilities in Koforidua

Reports from the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua show that the extension of the Medical Doctors’ industrial action has affected attendance at the health facilities in the area. 

Almost all the benches for patients were empty except the Optical Department which had more than 20 patients to be attended to as at 11 am. 

At units such as the Children and Adults Out-Patients Department, OPD, the place was empty even though nurses were at post. 

Other departments visited were the Dental Unit, Sickle Cells Department and Laboratory. At the Pharmacy Department, less than ten patients were waiting to be served.
