NPP to present “comprehensive document” on voters register to EC on Tuesday The leadership of the New Patriotic Party NPP says it will on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 present a document to the of the Electoral Commission Chairperson, Mrs Charlotte Osei. This comprehensive document, according to the party, contains the evidence of the NPP’s case for a new register, including the evidence discovered. The party says a press conference will be held after the document has been presented to the EC Chairperson. A statement issued and signed by the General Secretary of the party Kwabena Agyei Agyepong and copied to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, GBC says the press conference will be address by the Presidential Candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice Presidential Candidate of the NPP. This according to the statement is to highlight the evidence gathered by the investigation team of the NPP, which it said demonstrates why the party maintains that the current voters’ register is "fundamentally flawed" and must be changed in order to guarantee for a fair playing field for credible elections next year. Below Is the Full Statement: NPP PRESENTS CASE FOR NEW VOTERS’ REGISTER TO THE NATION ON TUESDAY The leadership of the New Patriotic Party will on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 address the nation on its case for the Electoral Commission to compile a new voters’ register and in time for the 2016 general elections. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, (Presidential Candidate), and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (Vice Presidential Candidate), will address the news conference. The highlight of the event will be a presentation by Dr. Bawumia, sharing the evidence gathered by our investigation team that demonstrates why we maintain that the current voters’ register is fundamentally flawed and must be changed in order to guarantee a fair playing field for credible elections next year.
