The Daily Graphic congratulates all award winners on their excellent output at the 20th edition of the GJA Awards. The Graphic implores all journalists to demonstrate a media that help in finding solutions to national challenges. Their publications must refrain from creating needless alarm and providing lopsided analysis of situation with their coverage galvanizing both the people and government into action. 

The Ghanaian Times finds the decision by the Ghana Medical Association, GMA, to extend its strike in which they would not provide out-patient and emergency services, but attend to patients on admission, somewhat unsatisfactory. This is so, because government has shown signs of softening its stance and is willing to meet their demands should the negotiations continue. The Times says the decision to continue the strike is a great disappointment to all those who had, in the few weeks, sought to influence the authorities to give their demands consideration. The Times adds its voice to several calls to the GMA to call off the strike in the interest of the teeming masses that are bearing the brunt of their action. 

Daily Heritage also congratulates all journalists who won awards especially the overall winner Seth Kwame Boateng. It reminds all journalists about the Presidents call on them that their reportage does not lie strictly local but for the international audience and as such they should be circumspect in what they churn out. The Heritage calls on the GJA to up its game and provide training opportunities for members, so as to enhance their reporting skills for fairness and balance in this modern era. It also reminds owners of media houses to invest more in their reporters and train them to sharpen their reporting skills in specific sectors to enhance professionalism.
