There is no freeze on public employment – President Mahama President John Dramani Mahama has indicated that there is no freeze on public employment despite Ghana’s involvement with the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) programme. President Mahama said this in a radio interview on GBC Uniiq FM Wednesday morning as part of the celebrations to mark International Youth day. He said it is not true that there is a freeze on public employment, but rather what has been taken away is open license for anybody to employ. He said “We are still employing in strategic areas where we think we need manpower. In the areas where we don’t need, yes we are not employing, so that is the main reason. We are still employing doctors, we are still employing teachers and nurses and so if they say there was a freeze on employment it is not true,” GBC
