The Daily Graphic calls for an outright cease on ‘galamsey’ activities. It says the illegal mining has taken a serious form with the involvement of some politically connected persons and traditional leaders. According to the Paper, the resurgence of the practice with the alleged complicity of some groups of people raises serious concern. The Graphic says much needs to be considered on the sustainability of the operations. The Paper is of the view that clampdown on galamsey must not be an event but a process that will not only work to end the practice but ensure that the proper level of awareness is created among stakeholders on its dangers. 

The Ghanaians Times calls for mobilisation of people in the diaspora to assist the country in these challenging times. The Paper says it is time citizens proved their worth to help address the challenges confronting the nation head-on. It says though it may be daunting, Ghanaians should brace ourselves and find appropriate solutions for them. The Times believes that one sure way to tackle the problem is to harness the collective will and tap the know-how of every citizen for solutions.
