Final funeral rites for Youth in Agric Coordinator on September 13 The final funeral rites for the late Alhaji E. Adam Mahama, 59, National Co-ordinator of the Youth in Agriculture Programme, would take place on September 13, at Busunu, his home town in the Northern Region. According to a family source, Alhaji Mahama who was suddenly taken ill at Have in the Volta on August 1 was pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital and was buried at Busunu the following day. Alhaji Mahama , Agricultural Economist (Farm Management, Financial and Project Analysis and Management), was a Research Fellow at the University of Ghana, Legon, He obtained a Master of Science (MSc) Management of National Economy (Agriculture) from the Academy of Social Sciences and Management, Sofia, Republic of Bulgaria (Oct 1996 - July 1999) and a Master of Philosophy (M. Phil) Agricultural Administration, from the University of Ghana Centre, Tamale (Oct 1996 - July 1999). His research areas include: Socio-economic issues in livestock; Development and Planning of Agricultural projects; Project Analysis and Management and Agricultural Marketing. He has many academic publications to his credit and was a member of the Ghana Animal Science Association, Ghana Society of Animal Production, University Teachers Association of Ghana and the Ghana Association of Agricultural Economists. Alhaji Mahama was married with children. His hobbies were Tennis, Football and socialising. He would have celebrated his 60th birthday on 5th March 2016. SOURCE: GNA
