Interior Minister renews curfew on Alavanyo and Nkonya

The Minister of the Interior, Mark Woyongo, has on the advice of the Volta Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument renewed the curfew hours imposed on Alavanyo and Nkonya townships from 6:00pm to 6:00am effective today.  

Government continues to express its appreciation to the Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth and people for their efforts in ensuring peace in the area. 

Mr Woyongo urged them to use established mechanisms for the resolution of all conflicts and disputes. 

Government however said, the ban on all persons in the two towns and their environs from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons is still in force and warns that any person found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.
