Doctors still on strike despite calls to return to work

Despite numerous appeals to doctors to return to work they are still out of the consulting rooms.  

According to Radio Ghana reporters who went round some hospitals, the OPDs are empty due to the action.  

Meanwhile, the Ghana Medical Association intends to extend its sit down strike from non-O P D operations to emergency services. 

To mitigate the effect, the Director General of the Ghana Health Services says retired doctors have been re-called to manage the situation at the hospitals.
