Two schools closed down in Northern Region for rioting 

Two Senior High Schools (SHS) in the Northern region, Salaga SHS and Karaga SHS have been closed down indefinitely following riotous behaviour by the students.

In the case of Salaga, the students were not happy that some of their colleagues were reprimanded for wearing bathroom slippers to examination halls while in the case of Karaga, it has to do with a disciplinary action meted out to students who were using mobile phones on campus.  

In both instances, the students allegedly caused damage to school property including setting a dining hall ablaze.
