Payment of salaries of junior doctors begins Payment of salaries of some 91 junior doctors has begun. The payment follows assurances by the government to pay the doctors, who picketed the offices of the Controller and Accountant General’s Department on Monday. Spokesperson for the junior doctors, Dr. Nana Kissi Attafah, confirmed that payments have begun and some doctors have confirmed the money hitting their accounts. The 91 was made up of a group of 64 who were on payroll and had their salaries paid through the Bank of Ghana and another 27 who initially were promised to be paid in August but upon renegotiation, they are also going to get all their monies today.
