NPDC urged to involve rural communities in development agenda The Chairperson of the Council of State, Mrs Cecilia Johnson, says as laudable as the National Development Planning Commission’s (NDPC) forty years development agenda may be, its effect will not be felt if the views and input of rural communities are not sourced. At a meeting in Accra to formally inform the Council about the plan, Mrs. Johnson said the views of the people for whose reason the plan is being adopted must be considered in every step during the forty year journey. She added that the practice of sitting in Accra and drafting a policy for the people without their knowledge is not the best. She therefore charged the Commission to visit the regions before the launch of the plan on August 4th. GBC
