Family Of Late Overlord Of Dagbon Traditional Area Distances Itself From Funeral Rites Of Late Yaa Na

The family of the late over Lord of the Dagbon Traditional Area, Yaa Na Yakubu Andani says they are not part of plans to perform the funeral rites of the late king. 

A statement signed by the spokesperson for children of the late Yaa Na said the family was not consulted on the matter and will therefore not allow the funeral of the late Yaa Na, Muhamadu Abdulai to be performed at the old Gbewaa Palace. 

The statement also accused the Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Mohammed-Muniru Limuna of disrespecting Dagbon tradition and asked him to apologise. 

The Minister is being accused of breaking protocol of Dagbon Tradition by announcing the funeral, saying it is the duty of the Kuga Naa to announce the funeral of a Yaa Naa.
