Ashanti derby : Kotoko beat Ashgold by 1-0

Frank Sarfo Gyamfi scored the winner for Kumasi Asante Kotoko against Ashgold to move the Porcupine Warriors two places above relegation in the First Capital Plus League.

Gyamfi's second goal of the season was the only goal in the game against the league leaders and was enough to end Kotoko's winless run in their last four matches. 

Meanwhile, their fierce rivals Accra Hearts of Oak lost 1-2 to New Edubiase FC to drop to the relegation zone with 29 points. 

At the Accra Sports Stadium, Great Olympics also beat Medeama SC by 2 goals to 1, while Hearts of Lions were 2-nil victors over Wa All Stars at the Kpando Park.
