Collection Of TV License Fee Is Essential For Effective Public Service Broadcasting - Kabral Blay-Amihere

The Chairman of the National Media Commission (NMC), Ambassador Kabral Blay-Amihere, has justified the need for the payment of TV license fee. 

He said it is equally important that Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) takes the lion share of the license fee. 

Ambassador Blay-Amihere was delivering the 6th and last in the series of lectures marking the 80th Anniversary of GBC. 

Ambassador Blay-Amhiere noted that even though GBC may not be comparable to BBC in terms of output, the Corporation is not ineffective as some critics would want the nation to believe. 

He said GBC has, had and will continue to have great impact on the nation, serving as a rallying point for the citizens, promoter of Ghana's identity.
