Police seize 80 boxes of ammunition on Techiman-bound bus

The Police in Accra have impounded 80 boxes of ammunition that were being transported from Accra to Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region. 

The ammunition was kept in a luggage compartment of an OA Vehicle with registration number AW 6758- 12 which was travelling to Techiman. 

The ammunition was impounded at the Doblo Barrier on the Accra-Nsawam highway upon police intelligence. Three people have so far been arrested. 

Meanwhile, the police have begun investigations into the matter.  

The Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Afia Tenge in an interview with Radio Ghana said the vehicle and the exhibits have been impounded by the police. 

The police have also arrested two notorious armed robbers. 

One was among a gang that robbed residents of Amanfrom recently while the other engaged the police in a shootout in which one police officer was killed.
