CPP to hold congress next month to elect national executives

Barring any hitches, the Convention People's Party, (CPP) will hold its National Congress on the 18th of next month.

It says nominations will open for interested candidates to fill their forms on the 3rd of August.

The Spokesperson for Youth and Sports of the party, Kwamena Bonfeh told Radio Ghana that the decision was arrived at by the National Executive Committee of the CPP. Mr. Bonfeh who could not tell whether the current Chairperson will be contesting, however, declared his intention to contest for the General Secretary position.

Mr. Bonfeh said the merger between the CPP and the PNC is still a possibility despite the election for national positions of the CPP.
