Verify accreditation of tertiary institutions - NAB The Executive Secretary of the National Accreditation Board (NAB), Kwame Dattey, says the Board does not have the mandate to prosecute institutions that flout its directives. He said it is rather empowered to draw the attention of the authorities to the institutions that run their program without accreditation. Mr. Dattey who was speaking on GBC's Current Affairs Programme Talking Point urged people seeking admission into tertiary institutions to check the board website www.nab.gov.gh for accredited institutions in the country. A lecturer at the Central University College, Benjamin Otchere Ankrah, said the proliferation of tertiary institutions in the country is as a result of the desire of parents to have their wards pursue higher education by all means thereby neglecting to check on accreditation from the right sources. He called on the Board to name and shame all those who circumvent its directives in order to protect both parents and students. GBC
