Ministry proposes establishment of National Household Registry The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has proposed the establishment of the Ghana National Household Registry as a tool to assist social protection programs. The policy is to identify, prioritize, and select and enroll households living in vulnerable conditions to ensure that different social programs effectively reach their target populations. This will involve the registration of households and collection of basic information on their socio-economic status. The National Co-ordinator of the National Targeting Unit of the Ministry, Kofi Akwiti told Radio Ghana that the data from the registry can be shared across social protection programs to avoid duplications.
