KMA Chief Executive calls for collaboration 

The Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive, Kojo Bonsu, has blamed the recent flooding and the harm it caused in the Kumasi metropolis on human errors. 

He said the Assembly as the authority responsible for development in the city is determined to prevent recurrence of such avoidable disasters in the metropolis henceforth. 

Addressing a section of the Muslim communities in Kumasi to mark Eid-ul-Fitr, Mr. Bonsu appealed to the leadership of the Muslims and zongo communities to support and cooperate with the Kumasi KMA, as it takes steps to rid the city of all squatters, slums and illegal structures along water ways.

Mr. Bonsu said Islam is all about peace of which the national and social development and cohesion is dependent on.  

He lauded Muslims in the country for their support to the government over the years in the maintenance of national peace and security. 

He called for greater collaboration and partnership between the Muslims and zongo communities and the security services to further enhance the prevailing peace and tranquility in the Ashanti region for speedy socio-economic development. 

The KMA Chief Executive urged Muslims to practice the useful lessons from the holy month of Ramadan including endurance, spiritual fortification and tolerance for each other while shunning those acts that tarnish the image of the religion.
