Ghana, Benin Begin Disaster Preparedness Training

Ghana and Benin are to begin a three-week training under a West Africa Disaster Preparedness Initiative (WADPI). 

The two countries are the first among 17 West and Central African Nations selected to participate. 

The course is to strengthen national capacities as well as implement an all-hazards approach to Disaster Preparedness and Response Management. 

It will also ensure continued regional collaboration, communication and coordination between member states.  

This was made known at the opening of the WADPI training programme in Accra.
