GBC’s Radio Savannah On 2nd December 1996, former President Jerry John Rawlings inaugurated GBC's Northern Regional FM station, Radio Savannah. It ushered in a new dawn, as the first FM station in the Northern Region. And like the morning sun, Radio Savannah carried the promise of bringing light to that part of the country ravaged by poverty, illiteracy, conflicts, disease and dehumanising cultural practices. Nineteen years on, how has Radio Savannah lived up to its promise and what has been the impact of its contribution to the development of Northern Ghana?
