NDC and NPP blame each other for violent incidents at Talensi  

The National Democratic Congress has accused the New Patriotic Party of being behind the violent attacks that took place  during yesterdays voting at  Talensi in the Upper East region.  At  a news conference held at Bolgatanga, the NDC specifically said violence at Dakota, Wakii, Bapulugo were perpetrated by members of  the NPP.  

The candidate of the NPP in the Talensi bye-election Thomas Duanab Wuni has attributed his defeat to vote buying on the part of the NDC.  Mr.  Wuni said before the election everything pointed to his victory but two days to the ` D` day the entire government machinery descended on Talensi with cash, bags of rice and truck loads of fertilizer coupled with intimidation.  These he said swayed the people to the side of the NDC.  He however served notice of his determination to reclaim the seat in 2016.  
 Still on the NPP's defeat in Talensi, the Director of Communications of the party, Nana Akomea, said he is not surprised at their loss. According to him, Talensi has always been a strong hold of the NDC.  He also dismissed suggestions that the outcome of the bye-election is signal of what is to come in 2016.
