EC Rules-Out Recount Of Votes In Talensi By-Election As PNC Candidate Threatens To Contest Outcome In Court The Electoral Commission has ruled out any recount of the votes in the Talensi by-election. PNC Candidate Dr Namalteng Wumbego has challenged the results and is calling for a recount of the ballots from all the 74 polling stations. Speaking to Radio Ghana, the Director of Public Affairs at the EC, Christian Owusu-Parry said it is too late in the day to call for a recount. He said the call should have been made at the polling stations. He advised any dissatisfied candidate or party to go to court. Meanwhile, the Talensi District Director of the Commission, Jonas Mustapha thinks it conducted a smooth and credible election at Talensi. The People's National Convention (PNC) is challenging the results of the Talensi By-election. The candidate of the party in the election, Dr Namalteng Wumbego told Radio Ghana, the results declared are not a true reflection of what transpired on the ground. As a first step, the party is petitioning the Electoral Commission for a recount of the ballot from all the seventy four polling stations which has already been rejected by the EC. Dr Wumbego said he is prepared to take his protest to as far as the Supreme Court. GBC
