State Attorneys threaten strike over poor conditions of service

Junior State Attorneys have declared an indefinite strike over poor conditions of service. 

The Attorneys from the rank of Senior State Attorney to Assistant State Attorney will therefore not be in court from Tuesday. 

This will in no doubt have a rippling effect on the courts since it is the State Attorneys who mainly handle both criminal and civil cases on behalf of the state.

President of the Association of State Attorneys, Mrs Francisca Tete-Mensah said negotiations with government for the last 3 years have not yielded the desired results and they will remain on strike until government pays all their allowances.
