17 Rules of Leadership

1. Set your personal goals in everything.

2. Try to meet the circumstances; do not wait until unexpected circumstances come to you.

3. Live merrily with great sense of humor. The fact is that if it is impossible to learn something from the definite situation, it is always possible to laugh about it.

4. Experiment! On yourself, on other people around you, on the fate in general. Mind that failures will be forgotten, triumphs may go down in history.

5. Always thank people for your mutual success, ideas and achievements. To go ahead of the others is the only part of leadership. However, you should also sometimes be among other people.

6. Be an optimist. Always ask yourself, “What if it really works?”

7. Invent your own rules and live by them. In any game the winner is not a person who plays the best, but the one who sets the rules.

8. Believe in yourself and believe in those who follow you.

9. Love people. Of course, half the people don’t even feel this, but the other half will give you 3 times more than it has taken before.

10. Ask yourself the question “How can I find out more?” Remember, your tomorrow will be better than today, only if tomorrow you’ll be better than you are today. Or you can interpret this saying quite tough, – if you do not get better, you will get worse. 

11. Know your personal talents and build your life around them. Help others to find their talents.

12. Entrust a part of your work to somebody else, delegate everything you can. Many rich people are sure that to take all the work is even worse than to take all the money.

13. Plan your day. The leader always plans the day carefully. The other people’s plans are made by leaders.

14. Do not pay for knowledge twice. Do not spend a lifetime in search of an answer, to which someone else has already spent it. Buy other people’s ideas. A greedy person doesn’t always pay twice.

15. According to the specialists’ point of view leaders are able to alternate the space with a microscope. It means that they think globally, but select the details carefully considering the key points.

16. Leaders make correct decisions. Where the ordinary man will take ten decisions, the leader will take only one and won’t be in doubt. It is said leaders are able to predict the future. Frankly speaking, it is not true. They do not see it, they create it and know clearly what they are doing.

17. Make the world better. Find out your own way to achieve this goal.
