GJA against Criminal Libel Law The Ghana Journalists Association has ruled out any possibility of accepting the re-introduction of the criminal libel law. There have been growing concerns about abuses in the media which go without punishment. The problem is compounded by the upsurge in social media which are not regulated in anyway. The situation has led some to calls for the amendment of existing laws to include social media while others have called for the re-introduction of the infamous criminal libel law. But President of the GJA, Affail Monney says that is farfetched. He urged media practitioners to be guided by the provisions of the constitution which impose some obligations on them. GBC
