20th April, 2015 The Ghanaian Times is disappointed that the social media which is an invention for the social good has been turned into a platform for negative information and propaganda. Making reference to the alleged gang rape of the YFM radio presenter in Takoradi the Paper says it was offensive for Ms. Ada and her gang to use the social media to play a prank on the entire country. The Times therefore supports any regulation which would identify those who abuse the social media and bring them under check or blacklist them totally if necessary. The Daily Graphic and The Herald both condemn attacks on innocent immigrants and the looting of shops belonging to other Africans by South Africans. The two papers call on South Africans to heed the call by ECOWAS to act quickly to stop the increasing wave of attacks across the country. The Papers say xenophobic attacks go to defeat the dream of a united Africa and betray efforts made by all freedom fighters, African leaders and the late Nelson Mandela who stood with South Africa until they gained independence. They conclude all South Africans should bow their head in shame and that what binds us as Africans is stronger than job opportunities. GBC
