MMDCEs Tasked To Improve On Social Services Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives have been tasked to utilize the nation’s resources at their disposal to improve on social services to make life comfortable for Ghanaians. The Chief Executives are expected to ensure affordable healthcare, accessible quality education for children, effective waste management, motorable roads and value addition to agricultural produce. The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Alhaji Collins Dauda stated this at an orientation programme for some selected MMDCEs across the country. Alhaji Dauda said a greater responsibility has been placed on the DCEs and they must therefore work hard to mobilize resources to ensure equitable distribution for the betterment of all. The Acting Ashanti Regional, Minister Eric Opoku, in an address read on his behalf told the DCEs that as representatives of government, they should let integrity, hard work and concern for the people be their watchword. They should also be client focused and care for the welfare of the people. GBC
