Help Age Ghana Advocates Improved Healthcare For Elderly As International Community Marks World Health Day HelpAge Ghana, an NGO has called for specific measures to be put in place to improve access to appropriate and adequate healthcare service to all especially the poor and disadvantaged in society as World Health Day is marked today. The Executive Director, Ebenezer Adjetey- Sorsey, who said this in a statement to mark the day, said the increasing financial challenges faced by the National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS, in its operation is a major concern to Ghanaians. He said the NHIS should not be allowed to collapse due to corrupt practices, mismanagement and knee-jerk government policy actions. Mr Adjetey- Sorsey said government and all responsible stakeholders must rise up and fix the challenges being faced by the Scheme, particularly in the area of finance. GBC
