NPP regroups to review affirmative action policy today

NPP's National Executive Committee, NEC and National Council will be meeting today to review the party's affirmative action policy that has sparked internal outrage. 

The meeting was scheduled to take place on Friday but was rescheduled to today. A member of the NEC, Dr Kwame Amoako-Tuffour told Radio Ghana that the Party's Flagbearer, Nana Akufo- Addo has already met NEC on the issue. 

He is hopeful that the Committee will consider the voices of the masses before taking a final decision.

The Ghana Medical Association has given government up to May to resolve the conversion difference and reduced pension contribution due doctors which has been outstanding since November 2011.  

It said if this is not done by the deadline the Association will kick start series of steps that will definitely disturb the industrial harmony in the health care delivery.

The ultimatum was given at a news conference at the end of the Association's second national executive council meeting for this year at Ejisu in the Ashanti region Correspondent John Yeboah's report.
