2015 WASSCE begins today The 2015 West African Senior SECONDARY Certificate Examination begins across the country today. In all 268 thousand 771 candidates from 868 public and private Senior High Schools will participate in the examination at 866 centres. The figures represents an increase of 20 thousand 603 candidates over the 2014 figure of 242 thousand 162 candidates. The Ashanti Region has the highest number of candidates of 62 thousand 472 followed by the Eastern region with 39 thousand 821candidates. The Upper West Region has the least number of candidates with seven thousand and 60 candidates. The WASSCE is being conducted in five West African countries. The examination begins with intergrated science. Meanwhile the Minister of Education , Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemen has congratulated the candidates for successfully going through their programmes and wished them success in the examination. Speaking to the media after touring some examination centres, she urged the candidates to observe all examination rules and regulations. Prof Opoku Agyeman asked the candidates to understand questions before answering them.
