26th March, 2015 The Ghanaian Times appeals to politicians not to drag state institutions into the political fray. It says the tendency to tag these institutions as being manipulated by government in power when one party on the political divide is in opposition does not augur well for the forward movement of the country. According to the Times the attack by the Vice Presidential Candidate of the NPP, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia on the Ghana Statistical Service which has led to the banter between the NDC and NPP is most unfortunate. The practice, the paper notes will make people lose confidence in state institutions. The Daily Graphic expresses concern about indiscipline on the roads. The Paper says driving on the country's roads has become hellish due to high incidence of crashes adding that commercial drivers are the worst offenders. In the opinion of the Paper, commercial drivers have arrogated to themselves masters of the roads and behave as though they are the most experienced drivers. Their behaviour always creates an unending traffic jam. Another menace the Graphic observes is the danger posed by motor riders, who also behave as though the traffic sign and lights are meant for only vehicles. The Paper therefore urges the MTTD and city authorities to put measures in place to rid the roads of these killer drivers and riders. GBC
