Nana Addo supports affirmative action of NPP New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer for election 2016, Nana Akufo Addo says he supports the decision by the National Executive Committee of the party to allow only females to contest incumbent female Parliamentarians of the party. The NPP as part of its guidelines ahead of the 2016 election has stated that male aspirants should not contest incumbent female MPs. Female MPs also have their filing fees slashed in order to reduce the financial burden on them. The proposal was later adopted by the NEC of the party. However this has proved unpopular among some party supporters who thronged the party headquarters to demonstrate against the decision. But the NPP flagbearer insist the leadership of any party is required to make difficult decisions and this is one of them.
